My day at Walgreens

Spending $3 at Walgreens

Today I bought  $47 worth of goodies for $3 cash OOP. I used my  manufacturers Qs, in-adQs  and RRs. I did this in 4 transactions. 2 of my transactions actually totalled up to $0 cash OOP after all Qs. PERFECT DEAL!

I forgot to add that I started my transactions using $9 in RRs and ended up with $11 in RRs, so my net for the day was spending $1!!

Sunday Supper Swap

Sunday Supper Swap 8/29/10
I am so excited to share this idea that has become a reality for my 2 daughters and me. We are participating in a Sunday Supper Swap. This is actually week #4 for Jessica and me and week #1 for Amanda. Jessica and I liked it so much that we thought Amanda would like it too. We each make  1 casserole enough for 3 couples, then we swap. This is my share of the food for the week.  Danny and I have enough food here for our dinner all week. As you can see, we ate part of the enchilada casserole tonight. There is enough left over for another dinner!
Here is the menu this week. I made Paula Deen's Goulash. Jessica made a smoked poblano pepper cream enchilada casserole, and Amanda made an Italian sausage pasta dish x2 for each of us. I made a big pot of pinto beans, a hoe cake, and a peach cobbler  that I shared and Jessica made some rice to go with her casserole.
We each made our casseroles sometime over the weekend and we swapped Sunday afternoon. This all came about when Jessica commented that she was going to try to cook her food for the week on the weekend because she is going to school at night and it was so hard to get dinner made. I suggested we try a swap. I had read a couple of articles on the internet about this and I thought it was worth a try.
This is what we've done so far-
Week 1
Country Captain Chicken
Cheesy pasta with italian sausage in a white sauce
Week 2
King Ranch Chicken
Jumbalaya
Week 3
Slow Cooker Chicken and Wild Rice
Chili with Mexican Cornbread

It is SO wonderful to come home and have your dinner ready to be warmed up after a long day at work. It leaves so much more time for other important things-swimming, watching my reality shows, blogging, couponing, etc!!!

Walgreens 8/29

It was a great day at Walgreens, except my favorite Wags close to home has suddenly put a limit of 1 RR deal per item per day. I just remarked, "I guess I'll just have to come every day then!" I'm hoping my favorite Wags near work isn't enforcing this rule!

Hot Pockets at WAGS

Hot Pockets!
This has been a super crazy week. Darlin Dan needs knee surgery after his fall on Sunday. He isn't driving , so we've been to Drs. and to his job a couple of times to turn in some paperwork.  I've been awhirling dervish this week, trying to get everything done.

One thing I did, was stop at Walgreens for some Hot Pockets.  Wild For Wags posted this deal and it works. I did it yesterday. Buy 7 boxes of Hot Pockets, use the in-ad Q. Total should be $10.50 and get a $5RR back. I used 2 of the  $4RRs  from the Crest deal and paid $2.50 cash OOP and got my $5RR back.  I burned $3 in RRs, but we'll have a heap of fast and easy meals here. (I'm thinking soup/salad and a hot pocket for lunch or supper!)

No Shopping - Darlin Dan Injured

My Darlin Dan was trimming trees yesterday, fell off a ladder and hurt his knee!  We visited the Dr. and radiologist today. He needed an X-ray and MRI {ouch}. We're waiting for the results. The Doc thinks it's his meniscus.  He's on house arrest until his next Drs. appointment on Wednesday. Since it is his right knee, no driving!  He's using crutches and taking aleve.  I'm so thankful because I know his injuries could be so much worse. We should've taken the hint when he was stung by a bee on his face while trimming another tree. Darlin Dan wanted to keep going and get the job completed! Well, best laid plans.........

Anyway, no shopping today! Here's hoping I can grab some deals tomorrow at WAGS and/or CVS.

SUNDAY AT WAGS
Another slow week at Walgreens. This is my Sunday deal. I bought 2 oral b toothbrushes, 1 Crest toothpaste, 1 Big roll toilet paper, and 1 scotch tape. The total for these items- $10.89 plus tax. Great Deli Lunchmeat Deal at my Super T

Darlin Dan & I went to Super T last night and found a great deal in the Deli Dept. These 2 types of deli chicken were reduced to $2 a pound from $7.99 a pound. I had 2 of the $ .50 off Target deli items Qs and bought these 2 packs of 1/2 pound of each of these  sliced as thin as possible for sandwiches. These are delish-Archer Farms Honey Mesquite BBQ chicken breast and Archer Farms Kettle Fried Chicken. We got a pound of great sandwich meat for $1.08! The sign in the deli said sale is good until 8/23.
Darlin Dan and I have sandwiches for dinner about once a week. This sandwich meat will really be appreciated!!

Target gift card
I think it is safe to show this picture because there are no account numbers shown on the card.
I received my $200 Target gift card today from Health miles!! I've been religiously wearing my pedometer daily,  putting on as many steps a day as I possibly could.  The hard work finally paid off.  I reached the next level and got my reward. This gift card will pay for alot of deals! I love doin' the Super T deals. My last reward was a $75 Target gift card way back in April. Until today, I was nursing the last $10 in Target GCs that I had left.

By the way, I've been saving up some of my rebate checks and gift cards. I have $38 in checks and another $10 in a gift card. Oh. yeah!

Farmers Market

Last Saturday, Jessica and I went to the Farmer's Market.  It was great! Look at all the great fresh produce I got. It wasn't the cheapest or best deal, but I always love going to the local farmer's market. I got some peaches, eggplant, purple hull peas, mushrooms, cucumbers, banana peppers, lettuce, onions, basil and beef bones (yes that's right, beef bones). We didn't realize this until we got home, but the lettuce was still planted in some dirt!! We had never bought such fresh lettuce!

Thanks to Sophie
(my niece)! She reminded me  to get my rear end to CVS before this great deal ended. I was able to buy all of this for $ .52 cash OOP! I paid with $10 in EBs and got back $8 in EBs. I used the $2 man. coupons from 8/1 P&G for the Crest mouthwash. I couldn't find any coupons for the toothpaste, so I think I used all of them a couple of weeks ago.

These are BIG bottles of Crest mouthwash!!
Thanks again Sophie!

I was very happy with the money maker Visine deal. I grabbed a bunch of the Rolaids, Playtex tampons, and Special K cereal.I was able to get several of the Noxyema razors. The Listerine deal continues to be a problem (too bad).

Great day at Walgreens

Darlin Dan and I went on a quick weekend  trip and so today was my 1st shopping day for the week. Thank goodness for the Friends and Family coupon! I spent about $4 cash OOP and I gained $11 in RRs!! I was not very organized today.  I actually went into Walgreens with inserts uncut, ready to cut as I find the deal. It did not go too bad. The Listerine beeped and my fav cashier pushed it through. I tried to buy a 2nd Visine at another WAGS and the in ad Q kept beeping, so I  asked her to take it off-too much drama! I found all these deals on either Wild for Wags or Common Sense with Money.
