CVS deal gone bad

I didn't get my EBs for my toothbrushes this week and the store manager told me to call CVS extracare and now I'm waiting for them to research this transaction. Wow-this is ridiculous! I should've just returned the silly things when I didn't get my EBs, but I didn't think it was going to be such a hassle.

Lovin my Walgreens & CVS

This week has been great at Walgreens.  I've gotten lots of moneymaker items (Tena and Almay)  and now I'm  spending some of my RRs on things we need/want/can use around the house. I bought some paper plates -not on sale...gasp!! I also got a bag of fresh mandarin oranges and they are delicious. I started grabbing some of the very cheap Kettle chips-3/$4 this week and I'm using 3 of $1 coupons from 3/20 inserts! Although we didn't get this great coupon in my hometown, my coupon insert supplier did. I'm stocking up on some very cheap chips. I also snagged some very cheap wine! My fav Wags   had clearanced lots of  wine, some down to $0.62!. I hate to admit this, but I stocked up on this item also.

I bought some Eucerin facewash and lotion on clearance. I normally would not buy $4  face wash and $7 facial lotion, but  I was recently diagnosed with Rosacea  and I'm wanting to pamper my poor face! Have you ever looked  up Rosacea? It can look pretty bad, sad, and down right ugly.  After several bouts of strange facial rashes,  I finally made my way to the Dermatologist. This last bout was the worst, went from one ear to the other, but at my jaw line and was extremely itchy.

CVS has been kind  this week. Not as good as Walgreens, but all in all, very nice. I've gone everyday  on my way home from work and done a deal or two.On Sunday, I grabbed the freebies.  Then,  I've done the cleaning supplies and the Suave deal. Not free, but still a good deal.

Sunday shopping- Moral of the story-always looks around the entire store!

At first, we weren't having very much luck getting the deals at Walgreens. We tried to do a quick Almay deal at the beauty counter and were shot down trying to use the 2 Q combination. (Later, I realized that it's still a moneymaker when buying the cheaper products using 1 of the $2 Qs). The toothbrushes were nowhere to be found. We found the Celadrin pills and Plackers, but needed the Tena pads to make our scenarios work. They weren't in the normal place and I was getting so disappointed. We decided to take a stroll around the store and low and behold-in the clearance aisle-Tena pads on CLEARANCE for $6.49! Bingo-great moneymaker, $6.49 -$2.50 IP Q= $3.99 and get a $10RR back!!

Other great deals-Airwick i-motion -the compact-BOGO $7.99-I used a $4q and a $3Q w/no problems and have read that even 2 $4qs are not causing a problem. I was happy with 2 compact Airwick I-motions for $0.99 with no beeps!

Osteo Bi-Flex deal -$9.99 get $1RR. For some reason, these are ringing up BOGO!! Using 2 $6 man. Qs, (Walgreens usually lets you use 2 coupons on a BOGO deal) this is a MM. I tried it and it worked for me!! We take this stuff, we need this stuff and we love it when we can get it for better than free!

Then of course the ALMAY deal. I did try the deal and was happy with this: 1 eye make up remover $4.19-$2 beauty book Q=$2.19 and get a $5RR back!

Back to the moral of the story-don't forget to walk the entire store! We are always sniffing around. It's like a scavenger hunt and the prize is finding the very best deal.

Here's some of  what I did-

Update on Walmart Shopping

I thought I should offer some advice to those wanting to shop at Walmart with coupons. Take the current coupon policy and if the cashier is leary of a coupon giving overage, ask for the manager. This happened to me.  The cashier  talked to the manager and then took off the total coupon ($3 off for the Gain dryer sheets-cost $1.87).  She didn't seem happy with this, but she did it.

Watch the register like a hawk-I'm sure I got on the cashier's last nerve,  but often the coupon amount wasn't taken off and I had to interupt her and tell her I didn't see the amount come up on the display. I feel it is better to say something right away rather than wait til the end and hold up the line even longer because the cashier is counting coupons and figuring out which one didn't scan.

I wasn't able to use a catalina coupon for  free 3 ct. VIA coffee (from HEB). This was a big test to me.  I thought I would try this catalina before trying to use RRs. When the cashier  refused this coupon, I just asked her to take the item off my transaction. I bumped into the manager on my way out ;) and asked her about Walmart accepting catalina coupons and competitor's coupons. At first she said no. I showed her a copy of the new coupon policy (which she had not seen) and she said she would bring this up at the next "meeting". I left her a copy of the Walmart policy.

I'm thinking it will be pretty touch and go for a while. I was pleased with the deals I got. I was hoping the dog food was a little cheaper. I'm going to check at Super T today!

What I saw at WAGS-
Pedicare priced $7.99! Too much for the deal I posted. Aleve is $10.49-I'm still thinking about this one-kinda pricey-but we do use this for aches and pains. Oscal-the chewables are included and we are almost out-will probably grab this. I will also pick up some Osteo Biflex at BOGO with my $7 coupons.

Getting some deals at HEB

Nothing  major, but I was  able to grab 4 of the 11.5 oz. bags of HEB chips for $3.34. I was checking my e-mail and noticed I had received an e-mail from HEB. I opened it and it had 3 coupons to print. 2 of the coupons   had already expired, but the 3rd coupon was for " Buy a bag of wavy potato chips and get tortilla chips free"! I was able to print the coupon twice and it was  expiring today! I like to have chips  in the stockpile and the expiration date on the bags are for the end of April. We're always taking snacks  to poker night or when we're invited to a BBQ and I just love shopping from my own stockpile. ;}

Oh, and I picked up a box of kleenex-$0.97-$0.75HEB Q that was in a recent insert & a tiny box of Kotex U panti liners for $1.24- $1HEB Q that was in a recent insert.

Philly Cooking Creme

Look what I got in the mail! From House Party...........
