How I organize my Qs

This is how I organize my Q inserts. One bin/binder for Red Plum and one bin/binder for Smart Source. My P & G cQs are in another (smaller bin). I have started saving my Parade magazines and they are in a box.
I have them separated by date. Each week of coupons has its own sheet protector. I write the date on front of the insert. I have trouble seeing the itty bitty writing on the side of the insert ;-) and sometimes when I'm working late at night-I can hardly see expiration dates!! Need to go back to the eye Dr.

I don't clip out the coupon unless I am using it for a deal. If I am planning a Super Target run, I will clip some grocery Qs. I put my deal Qs in my little book to take to Walgreens or CVS. (I have my RRs and EBs in little books.)

It has been such a slow week at the stores. I've actually organized a bit.

Favorite Walgreens deal of the day

This is a great deal to do if you are trying to roll your RRs-especially from the $5 razor RR to the $3.50 toothpaste RR. Transaction #1 pay with a $5 razor RR and buy a toothpaste, 2 Fiber Plus bars from Kelloggs, and a filler-I picked a $ .09 marker.
I had 2 internet print Qs for the bars and got a $2RR back. I used a $1 man. Q for the toothpaste and got a $3.50RR back. I needed to buy the marker to make my coupon count equal the number of items I bought. I spent $ .58 cash OOP!

Trans#2  I used the $3.50 toothpaste RR and the $2 bars RR to buy a razor and 2 $ .09  markers.
I used the $4 razor man. Q and got a $5RR back. I spent $ .62 cash OOP!
I'm happy now! I spent $1.20 cash OOP for about $18 worth of goodies and I didn't burn up any RRs.

Burning my RRs

Look what I found yesterday! I bought these at 3 different Walgreens using some of my money maker RRs from the Dr. Scholls deal. They are marked down to $1.09 a bag. Some of the stores do not have them marked. I asked for a price check first.
I'm so happy now!

Why we should use coupons

Money Saving Mom has a great article on why we should use coupons here.

Winner, Winner

Winner, Winner, Turkey Bacon & Sausage Dinner!
I accidentally ran into a fantastic deal at HEB-that Texas  grocery store chain  that has a monopoly in San Antonio. I ran in Sunday to grab a free box of pampers wipes while it was on my mind and before the coupon expired (I found 1 more $2 Q!).  I knew it was probably the only place that still had them under $2. I walked by a display case full of Butterball Turkey bacon and sausage. It showed the famous HEB yellow coupons-buy a Turkey Bacon and get a Turkey sausage free! Well, my sometimes sharp mind remembered seeing a manufacturers coupon for Butterball items (bacon!) and I knew I would actually be able to use it for this deal. I didn't have time to try the deal  yesterday, but today HEB didn't know what hit them..........I bought $45.00 worth of Butterball Turkey bacon and sausage for $8.40 on the GC Darlin Dan and I used for our anniversary staycation. I actually had enough left on it to pay for this wonderful deal.  I used 10 HEB coupons worth $2.50 each and 10 $ .75 man. coupons for the bacon.
And guess what? We actually like Turkey bacon and sausage!
Winner, Winner, Turkey bacon and sausage dinner.

Wild Saturday at Super T

I went wild and crazy at Super T yesterday!

I went for the Pantene and Olay products for the $10 P & G Rebate and ended up using practically all my Pantene Qs with the super deal they had. I bought 11 Pantene shampoos and conditioners, 6 pantene restoratives, 5 Olay body washes, 5 BIG packs of Ivory soap, 3 turkey breasts and 2 cans of market pantry label rotel tomatoes. I did this in 3 transactions and each transaction cost me less oop! I spent $22 on my GC and will get back $10 rebate for my Pantene and Olay products (I bought more than I needed for the rebate 'cuz the deal was good). So I sent $12 on the 3 turkey breasts (on sale for $ .89 a lb) and the tomatoes. My receipts stated I saved over $108! That's crazy!!

1 reason why I waited to shop last week

See these gals? Anna and Lindsey work at the Cosmetic department at my favorite  Walgreens. This Walgreens is close to where I work, so I frequent it on weekdays.  Before I left for vacation, Anna had asked me if I would come by on Saturday July 10. She explained to me about  the Saturdate's that are advertised in the Walgreens Ads. She said they set goals of how many of the special item for that day they will sell. I wanted to help her out since she is my favorite cashier at my favorite Walgreens. This last Saturday, the special items were the Dove products - Shampoos, body washes, deodorants, etc. It wasn't the best deal for me because it wasn't a free deal after coupons and RRs, but I'm helping my fav. cashier and this can only help me in the future! I ended up burning some RRs that I can hopefully recoup in the future.  I'm happy to report that  Anna made her goal and I'm glad I could help!

How to get a "new" wardrobe for $0 cash OOP

Okay, so it's new to me.
Today my sister-in-law hosted a yard sale at her house. She invited us to bring over whatever we wanted to sell. We brought over some stockpile items that sell like hotcakes. Anyway, she was selling a boat load of clothing, shoes, and purses. Everything was in excellent condition to new.  She likes to buy our stockpile items, so we bartered (or traded). I got 14 shirts/tops/blouses (some with the tags still on them), 1 pair of pajamas, 2 pair of capris, 1 pair of shorts, an adorable purse/bag, and a pampered chef saute/wok pan!! In return, she got shampoos, razors, sunglasses, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc. Isn't this bag adorable? My mini Dell computer fits perfectly in it!! It is a 9 West bag. I heart it. It has shoulder straps (which I love). It looks literally brand new.  I bet she paid a pretty penny for it. She wanted $2 for it..............I paid with 2 shampoos!

This is a Pampered Chef saute/wok pan!! I know this stuff is expensive. I've never been to a party, but I looked it up on line and even though this is an old pan, the quoted price is about $50. She wanted $1 for it! How about I paid with 1 toothbrush?

I feel like I went hog wild! It's been a very long time since I have purchased any clothes. Now I have a lot of new things for the new school year!!

Darlin Dan was sooooo glad that my foot is bigger than hers. She was selling beautiful, I mean beautiful shoes for $1-$2!! I would've come home with a box full.  I know a good deal when I see it. The shoes were brand names and almost like new. Some look like they had never been worn.

I think this my favorite. It is an Alfred Dunner 2 piece shirt set-still with the tags from Macy's. It is called Palm Beach Garden. I just love Alfred Dunner. (I only buy when it is at least 75% off. This was even better!)

Here's another brand new shirt that I know I will wear alot. It's really cute. I like the length.

This sweater is soooo cute. I can't wait to wear it.....probably not 'til November or December!

As far as our profits, we are happy with what we made. We sell everything for $1- except razors and some makeup. (We are saving this money for our free trip to Wendover, Nevada in September.) I am much happier with my "new" wardrobe for $0 cash OOP!

Thank you Rachel and Raymond. You made me very happy today.

A treat

I discovered that I can watch the Martha Stewart show at the condo! I've been able to watch 2 shows. I enjoy listening to her radio channel, but never get to see her show. I've heard that her show will be shown on the Hallmark channel in the fall. That's so exciting, 'cuz we have that channel.

I know that Martha isn't particularly frugal. She is just so darned informative and interesting.

We're packing up today. We'll be back home in time for Big Brother 12!!

Splenda House Party!!

Yes! I read my e-mails early today and found an e-mail from House Party that I was a finalist for the Splenda party and needed to respond quickly if I wanted to be a host. Well I did and now I'm hosting a Splenda House Party on July 31! I'm so excited about this. When I saw that they were offering a Splenda House Party, I applied right away. I use Splenda all the time. I don't even have sugar in my house!

Vacationing

It is a beautiful day!

Okay, the guys are golfin' and guess what the super couponer is doing? Well, she isn't chasin' the deals. She's getting ready for Big Brother to start! I am a die hard fan of Big Brother. It is a reality show on CBS. This is season 12. I've watched 9 seasons.  It is starting back up on July 8!!  Today,  I'm by myself at the condo, watching the preseason interviews of the houseguests on the internet.  This is such a treat.  I haven't really made the time to do this until today.  Today is the perfect day 'cuz everybody else is out and about.  As soon as I'm finished getting ready for "BB", I plan to continue reading book #2.

Wouldn't you know that another tropical storm is brewing and could possibly be heading for the coast of Texas? Rain is forecasted for the area starting tomorrow evening. We plan to play it by ear. I wouldn't be surprised if we start heading home by Thursday.

Again, I'm soooo glad the deals are few and far between this week. I would be miserable... ;-)

Happy Frugal 4th of July!

We've had a great day of fishing and being with family. We had a wonderful dinner of brisket, potato salad, guacamole, ranch style beans, and pico de gallo.  You better believe this dinner was planned ahead of time with bargains I grabbed when I could find them! The brisket was bought at Super T for $.99 a pound. It was a 15 lb. brisket and fed 12 people. We have leftovers. The potato salad was made from a 20 lb. sack I got for $2.49!

We went to HEB today to pick up a few things and they had 8 ounce blocks of cheddar cheese for $ .50! Isn't that terrific?

The drug store deals will just have to wait. We're having too much fun!

We're experiencing some rain storms and general yuckiness. Thank goodness where we're going wasn't really bothered by Alex.  I can't believe vacation time is here.

Next week will be a very light deal week. It was like that when we went on vacation last year. I'm lucky!
