Run to Target today to do your OLAY gift card deals
I checked some of my fav blogs last night and Totally Target and Common Sense with Money both wrote about the great OLAY gift card deal at Target. I got my Qs together and thought I would head on over to Super T. I wanted to do the deals today because the P&G $2 Qs expire today. There are other $1 Qs from SS5/16 that don't expire until 6/30, it just isn't as big a moneymaker. BINGO! I used all my P&G Qs and I didn't take my SS Qs. I plan on another trip later today or this week to complete my $50 worth for the OLAY deal post here. I will do 2 more gift card deals using the $1 Qs from SS5/16-will still be a money maker and then I will submit for the $20 rebate!!
Super T had restocked the Bounty paper towels. I used all my man. Qs and now I'm very well stocked.
By the way, I did this in three transactions. I'm a wimp! I thought this was the best way to try to avoid rejection and denial. Darlin Dan was with me and took out the bags after each transaction while I was going back for more.
I started with $20 in Target Gc. I now have $31.92 in GCs!!

Such a busy day
My day started a little before 5 AM this morning. I couldn't sleep so I got up and did some paperwork for my part time job until about 8. Then I made sure I had all my coupons ready for shopping. We dunked some cookies in our coffee for breakfast and then we got dressed and went to Home Depot to rent a sub pump so we could empty our pool. This is really a disgustingly dirty job! We had to go to 2 stores before we found a pump. Anyway, we put the pump in the pool around 12 and then I left for my Sunday Shopping. I got home around 3 and made us some tuna salad sandwiches. After we ate, we started working on the pool. We had asked a favor of our son and daughter's BF to please come and help because I was very afraid my back would go out if I tried to do this job. I've always done my fair share-even done the job myself before, but I need to be 100% the last week of school and we wanted to take advantage of the 3 day weekend and the weather to do this job. I'm happy to say it is completed and the pool is being re-filled as I type this. We were given an estimate of $6oo for somebody to come do this- we paid $40 to rent the pump! It took about 1.5 hours for the 3 men to do this job. Now our water bill will be double next month-from $35 to $70 to refill it-not too bad-and we emptied all the water on our lawn! The water had not been treated with chemicals for months and we did the same thing last year with no problems.
My Darlin Dan is all tuckered out-already called it a day! I've washed our stinky clothes that we wore to do this job and I'm waiting for them to dry before turning in myself.
Can't wait to take a dip in my nice clean pool!

All I can say is WOW!
I spent $4.64 cash OOP today at Walgreens for $162 worth of goodies. I started with $30 in RRs and now I have $34.50 in RRs. So it actually cost me $ .14 today!! Oh, and every time I bought a Kotex U, a coupon for a free pack of Always spit out! Yippee. I was trying to use up those Kotex coupons that expire today. I was also very determined to get my candy! Last time WAGS offered this deal, it was hard to find 4 bags at a store. I was able to do the deal 4 times. (More beach snacks!)
I visited 3 Walgreens. All of these stores are very close to home. I did 3 transactions at the first store and 2 transactions at each of the other stores.
The men's Nivea body wash ended up being a moneymaker! They are $4.99 each and
BOGO free this week and I used 2 $3 coupons. I only had 8 nivea coupons left. I was saving them for a deal in a couple of weeks, but this was just too sweet.
If you have the coupons, all you need to start this bonanza is one $8RR from last weeks Complete moneymaker deal.

Good News and Bad News
Well it wasn't perfect, but not bad. The sales for next week are working, but the RRs didn't print. So, I'm not any money, I just didn't get my $2 money maker RR.
I was able to take advantage of next weeks Revlon deal of buy one get one half off and use the $2 Wags coupon book coupon that expires today.
I grabbed some clearance revlon lip colors for FREE-actually a small moneymaker-
$5.19 + $2.60= $7.79
Q book coupons $4 and man. coupons $2 + $2 = $8 = $ .21 moneymaker
This won't work tomorrow because the coupon book expires today!
Now I'm off to get ready for next week's deals................

Wish me luck
I'm going to try Walgreens on Saturday evening to see if I can take advantage of 2 weeks deals at one time. Somebody blogged about doing this a couple of weeks ago and my curiousity is getting the best of me. I thought I would get a price check on the Ecotrin first and see what happens! ;-) I'll report back later

Gotta watch my shows
It is a great TV night.....dancing and singing
Dancing with the Stars and American Idol.
Darlin Dan helped make our breakfast for dinner, Chilequiles-a DELISH mexican breakfast dish. I was especially hungry this evening, a hard day at work, eating lunch on the run, a beef jerky and a granola bar!
So our evening is a frugal one, dinner and sitting in front of the TV, watching 2 of our favorite shows! What could be better than that?

OMG-Aren't these cute?
Mercedes at http://www.commonsensewithmoney.com/2010/05/graveyard-mall-kids-sunglasses/ blogged about Graveyard mall having a deal on ladies sunglasses. Well, here they are. I payed using my pay pal account that had over $9 in it from doing surveys on Pinecone research, so my cash OOP was about $6! This is really a great deal. They have tags on them-the tags say CVS and some are priced at $29.99 down to $17.99. Some of the brands- Revlon & Gloria Vanderbilt.

Sunday at CVS
It was great at CVS yesterday. Got all the deals and steals I could. I spent $ .19 cash OOP and another $1.60 on my CVS GC! I'm afraid I used Darln Dan's CVS card as well today. I wanted to stock up on Pepsi for the beach. I used some moneymaker EBs from last week!
I got a TON of stuff! All together I bought $85.48 worth of goodies. I did one transaction on each card.
I thought the Renuzit Crystal thingies were a good buy at $ .99 each after man. coupon. I want to stack up on these to put in gift bags, baskets, etc. The Dawn Renewel dish soap in on sale this week for about $ .83 and you can use the $ .50 manu. coupon to make this a great buy at $ .33 each. The Herbal essense shampoo is free after man. coupon and EBs. The razors are free after EBs. Dial bar soap is on sale for $1.88-take off the $ .35 man. coupon and $1EB= $ .53 for pack of 3 bars of dial soap(Darlin's fav). I grabbed a few of the zone bars to taste. Not a perfect deal, just wanted to try them!

One thing I love about buying the deals with coupons
I was very happy this morning. Our Granddaughter from Corpus Christi came over for breakfast and visited my "convenience store". She walked away with 2 Walgreens Reusable bags full of "her choice" deals and steals from my fav 3 stores, WAGS, CVS, and Super T. I just love being able to let my loved ones go wild in my stockpile ;-).
She stocked up on toothpaste, floss, kleenex, body wash, shampoo, facial scrub, cleaning supplies, candles, pads, etc., and even some food thrown in.
Makes my heart smile.............

How a couponer buys Swiffer products with RRs
Here's my story of how a frugal couponer was able to buy $55(regular price) worth of Swiffer products using RRs.
It's the 1st week of May and she has $72 in RRs. She's been wheelin and dealin, trying to do some money maker deals. She needed to buy a new Swiffer Wet jet and it is the week of 25% off Swiffer products at Walgreens. In addition, it is a RR deal, buy $10 of selected products (including swiffer products) and get $2RR back. On top of all this, there is a swiffer $10 rebate wyb $20 in refills. She decided to burn RRs to get her Wet Jet and also get $20 of Swiffer refills.
She initially bought her Wet Jet on sale for $18.36. She used the $2 man. Q and got a $2RR back, so this cost her $14.36(in RRs).
Then she bought a swiffer refill for $4.11, another for $4.71, and a febreze for $2.46(not part of swiffer rebate, but included in the RR deal), used a $ .50 man. Q for the febreze and got a $2RR back, so this cost her $8.78 (in RRs).
Her 3rd deal was swiffer refill for $4.11 x 2, and swiffer refill for $4.71, got back a $2RR for a total of $12.93(in RRs).
So now she's $38 poorer in RRs, but look at all she bought with them AND she's getting a $10 GC rebate.
She still has $34 in RRs to do her deals at WAGS.
The End

I'm going crazy
I can't find my glasses! Oh no...........
My frugal evening in the kitchen-
Last night, I prepared my 3 lbs. of ground beef that I bought at Super T. I prepared it the way Southern Plate had recommended (boiling in some water) and I added onion, celery and green pepper. When all done, I divided all my cooked ground beef into 2 cup bags and put them in the freezer! I was able to freeze 4 bags after using 2 cups for some taco meat last night. I'm able to get 5 meals out of 3 lbs. of ground beef I bought at Super T with a GC I earned for walking while wearing my pedometer. Not too shabby!
Now Darlin Dan wasn't too thrilled about the way I prepared this ground beef. He's afraid it will be lacking flavor. I explained to him that we need to eat leaner anyway. Although his cholesterol is fine, my cholesterol isn't too great and I need to watch it. I think he will come around.
So back to the glasses. I was getting ready for work this morning and couldn't find those darn glasses. I've searched my work bag and my coupon bag and now I think they must be hiding at home somewhere. I feel naked................ ;-}

Sunday Shopping at Target
I decided to run to Target today. I really wanted to do a Scrubbing Bubbles deal but they didn't have what I wanted. I did the razor/GC card deal-moneymaker! I grabbed 2 Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon for $1.99 and use 2 $1 IP Qs. Picked up some ice cream for Darlin and used a $1 Q, the sausage was marked down to $1.88 and the 3 lbs. of lean ground beef was $5.79. Last but not least, strawberries for $1.49.
Total bought = $29.74 - $15.00 in Qs = $14.74 - $5.00 GC earned = $9.74 paid with my Target GCs!
Quick Sunday Shopping at Walgreens
I spent $ .06 cash OOP today at Walgreens!
I bought the razor, EOS shaving cream, Infusium shampoo, Tuf paper Towels, and 1 bag of plastic forks. I spent $8 in RRs and got $8 in RRs back.

Starbucks Coupons! and a FREE TRIP
Saturday was a great mail day. I received 2 coupons for free coffee from Starbucks for my comments I sent in a couple of weeks ago. We also received a letter from a Resort for a free vacation-air included! We've gone to this same resort 2 other times-but paid. We're excited because we weren't planning any other vacations where we had to pay. Happy Birthday to me!

Finished up the Swiffer rebate today at Walgreens
I spent $ .45 cash OOP today at Walgreens, but I spent $16 in RRs and got $4 in RRs back. I needed to buy the rest of my $20 worth of Swiffer refills so that I could send off for the $10 gc rebate. Since the products are 25% off this week, plus we can get a $2 RR for buying $10 worth of the refills, I decided this was the week to burn the RRs. It is not the perfect deal, but it is pretty good. I'm paying with some money maker RRs so I can't complain.
What I can complain about is what I walked into this morning when I got to work. My room had been burglarized! Not only did I have to sit through 2 looonnnnnggg meetings today, but I also had to clean up the big mess in my room. Calgon take me away!

Getting my free pound of coffee at Starbucks
I was about to be disappointed in Starbuck's for the 2nd time. However, they came through and I was able to grab my free pound of coffee after 8 weeks of going in 1 time a week for a cup of coffee. The barista was trying to tell me that I didn't get my last stamp in time. I was a little "pushy" and got my pound of coffee. The man in front of me was in the same situation. He got his pound of coffee too!

Goofy CVS visit
I visited my nearest CVS yesterday afternoon. I wanted to grab a couple of the Listerines for the deal this week. I found some $1 Qs that would make this deal $ .99 a bottle-and these are the nice bigger bottles! So I grabbed my Listerines and decided to grab the Reach floss too cuz I had the BOGO Q and could get some free floss. However, I did not realize that these 2 items were the SAME deal and so I did not get my EBs for the floss. I really don't like to return but I thought why should I pay $4 for floss when I have a boat load at home that I got for free or better. Well, the wonderful manager on duty at CVS not only let me return the floss, but she gave me a $8.60something GC as my money back. This is great- I paid $4 on a gc and the BOGO Q. I'm doing a little happy dance right now.

Sunday Shopping
I ran to CVS and Walgreens this afternoon for the latest deals. Since I invested in a CVS e-gift card to get a bonus e-gift card, I used that to buy my Sunday papers today. No cash OOP at CVS and because the coupon spitter outer nicely gave me a $5 off of $40 purchase, I now have $20EBs, started out with $11. I picked up the deals of the week, Depends for women, toothpaste, Nivea body washes, Listerine, and then grabbed the cheap chips and Betty Crocker warm delights.
At Walgreens, I grabbed my new Swiffer Wet Jet. My old one bit the dust 2 weeks ago and I purposely waited until today to buy another one so I could take advantage of the sale at Walgreens. I used some MM RRs to buy my deals today. I spent $21 in RRs and $3.50 cash OOP and got back $4 in RRs. I bought the wet jet, Irish Spring body wash, Bic razor, sure deodorant, some ice cream drumsticks for Darlin Dan, 4 boxes of sugar free pudding, and some scotch tape.
I'm happy with today's shopping trip. Nothing like last Sunday, but it's not a money maker week like last week. I will be picking up the body washes all week. I will get both the Irish Spring and the Nivea body washes. I plan to burn more RRs on Swiffer refills so I can send off for the $10 rebate. I'm hoping for some hidden money maker deal!
Our Sunday was spent with family. We had a nice breakfast with my 2 daughters and their honeys. The guys helped Darlin move the rest of our heavy furniture out of storage. We FINALLY did it. We are officially out of the storage unit. This has been on our "to do" list for quite a while now. We will now have $117 more a month.
Now that it is just the 2 of us at home, we have more room to fit in the stuff we had in storage. Originally, we needed the unit because we had 6 adults living in our house and we had no extra space available anywhere for the extras. So I guess you could say we made some money today!

May 1 - Time to clean out the Qs
I don't know about everybody else, but I have alot of expired Qs that need to be weeded out.
I'm spending some quality time with my Qs. Alot of Qs expired 4/30 and I try to get rid of my expired Qs as soon as I can. On a typical Sunday, I buy 10 newspapers-unless there aren't any qs or only 1 insert. When there's only 1 insert I order them online, it comes out a little cheaper!
I organize my coupons by the week. I put all 10 inserts for the week in a plastic sheet protector. I have a binder for RED PLUM and a binder for SMART SOURCE. I've just started stacking the most recent inserts in a protector in a plastic bin cuz my binders are bulging. This is working out well because it seems that most of the deals lately require very recent coupons.
When I started couponing I would clip every single coupon in an insert and this was just toooooooo time consuming. Now I just clip the deals. There are a few exceptions. Like the snuggle coupon that came out recently, I clipped it the very week it came out because I knew this coupon is a GOOD one.
I don't typically print alot of internet printables-unless it such a perfect deal I can't resist. This happened a couple of weeks ago with the Nature's Bounty printable coupon off their website. Couldn't resist!
So it's back to the coupon binders and bins for me! Gotta get ready for the new week ahead!
